The Winter Park Resort has been voted as “Colorado’s Favorite”. It has gained reputation of world class skiing and snowboarding. This is the result of its long and continuous improvement as a winter park resort.

Several trails in the Winter Park Resort Ski Area are being identified as “historic trails”. The Winter Park Resort is one of the first skiing areas in Colorado in the 1920’s. Significant contributions for the development and image of the Winter Park Resort Ski Area had been made by many individuals. These contributions are given a commemorative sign with a brief narration in a convenient location along each trail in the resort.

The Winter Park Resort Ski Area has a skiable area of 3,060 acres, 143 trails and 1,212 acres of off-piste terrain. The different areas of the resort are interconnected with trails and lifts. Its Jane’s bump-studded slopes are loved by most Mogul skiing fans. It has made Cross-country skiing more fun with its 260 kilometers of groomed trails. It transports snow riders and sightseers with is Ski Train which is 1,500 feet long.

Before entering the Winter Park Resort Ski Area to start the fun of skiing, it is important that proper basic safety measures are taken. This includes the wearing of layers of clothing which is easier to either be added or removed to better regulate the temperature of the body.

Thin wool or poly socks are preferable as compared to thick ones when it comes to keeping the feet warm. For outer layers of clothes, it should be warm, water resistant and comfortable. Helmet, gloves, glasses and lip balm are must-haves too.
